Education
Mike graduated from King’s College London with a Physiotherapy BSc. in 2018

Career
Mike started his career in central London in the NHS working within musculoskeletal care and acute assessment units. He then became a highly specialised physiotherapist working with patients who had suffered long term muscle weakness following intensive care.

Mike was awarded a research internship with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in which he studied the effect of exercise in patients with chronic liver disease.

After relocating to Scotland in 2021, he became a Lead Physiotherapist for Medicine where he was responsible for managing complex patient rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, managing patients with dysfunctional breathing and airway clearance.

He is currently a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University where he is responsible for developing the education for the next generation of physiotherapists.

Approach
Mike takes a holistic and patient centred approach. He will use the latest evidence base to diagnose and treat, and ensures that he and his patients both set expectations on what they want to achieve.

Most importantly, Mike is dedicated to exercise medicine and the effects that physical rehabilitation has on improving function. He will ensure that he understands as much as he can about your difficulty and provide strategies that deliver results.

Interests
Mike is a keen Olympic Weightlifter and has competed at local and national competitions. He is also working on becoming a better climber and boulderer both indoors and out. These interest in sport and health promotion have created a passionate clinician who is focused on developing patients who can enjoy activity throughout their life.
